Bengaluru: The Congress is aiming to mobilise one lakh people to attend Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s protest against “vote theft” on August 8.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his deputy D K Shivakumar, Congress general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala and other top party leaders held a meeting to prepare for the rally. 

“More than one lakh people are expected,” Government Chief Whip and MLC Saleem Ahmed told DH.

“The protest is against the BJP, which has turned the Election Commission into its own commission.”
