Mysuru: AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday slammed PM Narendra Modi, calling him a champion of lies or 'Sullina Saradaara' and said that the BJP's promises and guarantees are mere lies as they have not been fulfilled in any parts of the country.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is champion of lies 'Sullina Saradaara' and their promises and guarantees are mere lies as they have not been fulfilled in any parts of the country. The guarantee programmes and promises of Congress are truth as it promises only that which can be fulfilled and it is implementing all the guarantees successfully in Karnataka and elsewhere."
He was speaking during the 'Saadhana Samavesha' where they inaugurated and launched 74 developmental works of 24 departments worth a total of Rs 2,578.03 crore in Mysuru city and district at a mega convention on Maharaja's College ground in Mysuru on Saturday.
Kharge said, "BJP's guarantees are not successful in any parts of the Country be it Assam or Chhattisgarh. They are successful only in places like Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh. People are coming to invest in Karnataka. The Union Government is jealous of this success of state. They don't tolerate it. They don't give adequate tax share to state. Modi and students of Modi should tell their contributions to Mysuru, Bengaluru and Karnataka. Those commenting are visible only in Television News channels and comment only there. Our programmes are not meant for our leaders but people of all strata," he said.
Kharge said, "PM Modi says India is now counted among top most developed countries. But their minister Nithin Gadkari says that the number of poor people in the country is increasing and wealth is getting concentrated in the hands of few rich people. Whom should we trust now? During Amrit Kaal, 40% of wealth is concentrated with 1% wealthy people. Only 6.4% wealth is with 50% poor people of the State. Modi promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh to each person's account, to give jobs to two crore people, double farmers' income, decrease inflation, reduce corruption with demonetisation. Has it happened? They are giving away Public sector companies and all projects to rich like Ambani and Adani make some rich, from road work to aircraft work and bringing labours to streets. Modi has visited 42 Countries, but he has not gone to Manipur, which is facing severe communal distort. Because they fear to go there as they have not done anything to them. They have not done even few percent of work which Congress has done over the years. Then why should people support them? Those who go up have to come down some day," he said.
Kharge said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi claims to make India 'Congress-mukt'. We might have lost in some parts of the country, but crores of people from different corners of India still remember works of Congress and they want Congress to survive and come to power to serve. If there was any party which has worked from Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam to Gujarat, it is Congress. It has never compromised with its basic principles to serve people. Whenever Congress has come to power, it has done good work and empowered people economically, given social justice with programmes like land reforms act which has made tenants the owners of land their tilled. "
Kharge said, "They cannot change the Constitution, given by Baba Saheb Ambedkar and they can't murder it. They will perish if they try to do it. Whose grand father did it, did RSS it? With that Constitution, you became CM and PM through universal adult franchise giving voting right to all. People will perish if it happens. So people have to save Constitution."
Kharge also said that the Congress has a collective leadership. "Right from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his Deputy D K Shivakumar, all leaders of the party have joined hands and are contributing for the huge developmental works. Hence such big conventions are happening".
"Siddaramaiah always gives priority to Mysuru and has done a lot of work as he loves his home district. He wants to do more work, since he is also Finance Minister", he added.
'BJP leaders are Teekacharis'
AICC leader Mallikarjun Kharge said, "BJP leaders are 'Teekacharis'. They know only to comment, without taking up any development works when they were in power. They allege that Congress leaders are corrupt. But Congress leaders work, take up development works. They must tell the people about at least some good works we have executed. They are lying that there is no funds for development in Karnataka, and that the State will become bankrupt if guarantee schemes are implemented. Let them show where it has become bankrupt? If we didn't have funds, how could development works worth Rs 2,578 crore could be launched now?" he asked.
