The party asked the BJP to take similar action against the Reddy brothers, who are facing charges of illegal mining activities.
The Congress has taken a high moral ground by asking Tharoor to quit. However, BJP has not taken action in cases of alleged corruption including that of Reddy brothers, two of whom are ministers in Karnataka, Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told newsmen here.
“The BJP ruled State’s Cabinet ministers are involved in daylight robbery in Bellary and the media has been exposing their misdeeds for the past several months. However, all the BJP leaders including L K Advani, national president Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Yeddyurappa have been maintaining stoic silence on the issue,” he charged.
