Bengaluru: Pointing out that the Congress high command had not been kept in the dark about the dinner meeting that Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara had arranged with Dalit cabinet ministers, IT/BT Minister of the state Priyank Kharge said, "It was not a hush-hush meeting; the Home Minister had convened it officially, and what’s wrong with it? The high command was aware of the meeting."

Priyank said that such meetings had been held in the past as well. He added that the meeting had been convened to discuss several issues.

Priyank reiterated that the meeting Parameshwara had arranged had not been cancelled, but merely postponed. "Since AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala expressed an interest in participating in the meeting, it was postponed," Priyank added.
