The district administration has clamped prohibitory orders banning the entry of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Kisan Cell president Sachinkumar Meega within 200-metre radius of the Deputy Commissioner’s office up to two months.

Additional Deputy Commissioner M R Vaishali had tried to convince Meega that it was not a fit case for relief, “Thimmaiah had not taken any crop loan from the bank, a criterion to be considered for compensation.”
As Meega protested till afternoon, the police arrested him and his 10 supporters. They were later released on station bail.
The police filed a charge sheet against all the 11 arrested in the case.
Assistant Commissioner Sangappa issued ban orders, modifying earlier orders, extending the radius from 100 metres to 200 metres, according to section 144 of CrPC.
Deputy Commissioner G Satyavathi also directed SP K Annamalai to initiate action against Meega and others, as they are expected to repeat their protest. Meega had violated a standing order against staging protests on DC’s office premises.
