Davangere: Channagiri MLA Basavaraju V Shivaganga on Monday said he would not accept the caste census report, stating the survey, conducted a decade ago, was quite “confusing”.
Addressing media persons in Davangere, the legislator said: “I am committed to the stance taken by MLA Shamanur Shivashankarappa, who is also the president of the All India Veerashaiva Lingayat Mahasabha, on the caste census issue."
"The state government should have discussed the census report before releasing it. It will be embarrassing for the government if it releases the report and moves to amend it.”
“I do not accept it (caste census report) for any reason,” he added.
