Bengaluru: Channagiri Congress MLA Basavaraju Shivaganga on Saturday claimed that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar would become the chief minister “after December” this year.
Shivakumar, who is also the Karnataka Congress Pradesh Committee president, ordered a notice to Shivaganga for violating the party’s diktat.
“It was made amply clear that none should comment on the chief minister’s tenure, power-sharing and other issues. The MLAs must follow the party’s discipline, not cross the line and create confusion by making unnecessary statements. Still, (Basavaraju) Shivaganga has violated the party’s discipline. Therefore, he will be given a notice,” Shivakumar said in a statement.
