The remark comes in the wake of a statement by party leader Nayana Motamma who said that she would decide whether she remains in Congress or joins BJP, SDPI or BSP.

The JD(S) shared a post said that the MLAs and workers of Congress party should not waste time and should support NDA alliance in 2028 assembly elections in Karnataka, towards making the state Congress free.

Meanwhile Nayana Motamma, took to her social media page, to state that she has no confusion or sadness about her choices while 'liberals' have been questioning her objective and faith.

Some people have gone too far by criticizing by spreading her videos on social media from her personal viewpoint, while she has been modern in her thinking. Wearing a saffron shawl doesn't mean people can judge. Her traditional gesture cannot confine her to a particular ideology, Nayana added.
