Speaking after launching the campaign - ‘Congress Nadige Janara Balige’ (Congress march towards people) in Tumkur on Wednesday, he said the party activists should be ready to face elections to the Assembly, predicting the fall of the Yeddyurappa-led government soon.

Siddaramaiah said he had documents to prove donation of Rs 40 crore by Jindal company to Prerana Trust of Yeddyurappa’s family members and allotment of BDA site to CM’s son and MP Raghavendra illegally.

“Yeddyurappa has the dubious distinction of being the first Chief Minister in the State to have been recommended by the Governor for punitive action on charges of nepotism, corruption and irregularities,” he said.

AICC Secretary Sanjay Nirupam alleged that Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev and who have been campaigning for the Jan Lokpal Bill, were conspiring to destabilise the Congress-led UPA government, and they were backed by the BJP and the RSS.

The statewide campaign was launched to strengthen the party at the base, he added.
