Mangaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said that the BJP government at the centre is trying to reduce the representation of southern states in Parliament, and the Congress will fight against it."
He was responding to a query regarding the delimitation of constituencies at Mangalore International Airport on Sunday.
When asked about the government's move, he stated, "The Congress party opposes the central government's plan to redraw parliamentary constituencies. This is not right. We will fight against it through the Election Commission and the court."
From the airport, he left for Udupi to take part in the Brahmakalashotsava programme at Hosa Marigudi at Kaup.
