Bengaluru: Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Assembly R Ashoka on Saturday accused the ruling Congress of ‘mobilising’ funds for the Bihar elections.
“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has invited ministers for dinner to raise funds to finance the party for the Bihar elections. Karnataka is the Congress’ ATM for Bihar polls. The dinner party is to discuss who can contribute how much for Bihar elections,” Ashoka told reporters.
Ashoka even dared the Congress to boycott Bihar elections as they have levelled ‘Vote chori’ allegations.
Alleging that the law and order in the state has collapsed referring to the recent rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl in Mysuru, Ashoka said,
“While the police are busy visiting ministers and MLAs’ residences for transfers and plum postings the crime against women has increased. The
heinous crime reported on the Chief Minister’s home turf is proof of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.”
