Bengaluru: A sulking Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held a meeting late Monday night with his aides to review the fallout of senior Congress lawmaker K N Rajanna’s sacking from the Cabinet.
After he was shunted out, Rajanna said he was the victim of a “conspiracy” and that he knew who was behind it. Siddaramaiah is learned to have huddled with Social Welfare Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa and Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi.
The CM is said to have expressed despair over having to sack his close aide.
Speaking to reporters, Satish called for exercising caution amid “one-upmanship in politics” in the backdrop of Rajanna’s sacking.
Asked if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s loyalists were being targeted, Satish said: “We need to be careful. There will be one-upmanship in politics. If we’re careful, then such episodes won’t occur.”
Senior MLC B K Hariprasad also said that conspiracies are a part and parcel of politics. “Those from SC/ST and OBC communities keep facing conspiracies. This is a lesson for Rajanna,” he added.
