Presiding over a one-day seminar organised at the King George hall in Robertsonpete, he urged the participants to launch a fight against the State and Central governments.
“While prices are increasing by the day, the government has not increased minimum wages in the past 10 years.
We need to heighten our fight to ensure that unorganised workers in the rural areas are paid minimum wages of Rs 6,000 per month and their counterparts in the urban areas are paid Rs 10,000 per month,” he said.Training his guns against the BJP government, DYFI president, Thangaraj, said the party had not kept the promises made during the poll campaign.“The government has forgotten all about its promises and is instead conniving with the mining and land mafia,” he alleged.
