He was speaking at the Police Martyrs Day observed under the joint aegis of Karnataka Police Academy (KPA), City and District Police, and KSRP, at Martyrs Memorial Park in the city.

He said this particular style of policing has received a good response and hence it should not be restricted for Dasara only. The DC said, the cops have to introspect about their honesty in delivering the services. If the cops introspect and take a leaf out of the services rendered by those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, it would be a fitting tribute to them, he said. It’s also high time, a serious thinking should be done about public still having second thoughts about policing.

Most of the times, the cops are the receiving end and it can be attributed to those cops who fail in their job wiping out the repute brought by their colleagues doing some good. SP Ramasubba read out the names of 752 police martyrs across the nation. The police flag was flown half- mast as a mark of respect and two minutes silence was observed. The KSRP personnel fired in the air to pay respect to the great souls.

IGP (Southern range) A S N Murthy, Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal, Director, KPA, Amarkumar Pande and others were present.
