Udupi: A case has been registered at the Karkala Town Police Station following a theft at the Parashurama Theme Park located in Bailoor in Karkala of Udupi district.

According to a written complaint filed on January 4, by Arun Kumar, Project Director of Udupi Nirmithi Kendra, the incident came to light on January 3, around 4.30 pm. While Arun Kumar was at his office in Udupi, Santosh, a former security guard of the theme park, informed him over the phone that unidentified miscreants had broken into the premises.

The miscreants allegedly damaged the main gate of the Parashurama Theme Park using some kind of weapon, broke open the gate door, and stole copper roofing sheets fixed on the roof of the building before fleeing the spot.

Based on the complaint, the Karkala Town Police have registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

Following the registration of the case, Sub-Inspector Shivakumar SR visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A fingerprint expert team, dog squad, and Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) team visited the spot to collect evidence. Police have stated that further investigation and efforts to trace the accused are underway.
