The term of four MLCs, representing graduates and teachers’ constituencies, will expire on June 30. The constituencies are: Karnataka North-West Graduates’ constituency, Karnataka South Graduate constituency, Karnataka North-West Teachers’ constituency and Karnataka West Teachers’ constituency.
According to the ECI notification, the election notification will be issued on May 28 and, June 4 will be last date for filing nominations. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on June 5 and, the last date for the candidates to withdraw their nomination papers is June 7.
The model code of conduct will come into effect immediately after the issue of election notification.
