Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) as well as the Higher Education Department are waiting for the reply of All India Council of Technical Education.
The sources from higher education department told Deccan Herald that the crisis would be resolved. “We are trying to resolve the crisis as soon as possible. There are chances that it will be solved with in two or three days,”said an official from the higher education department.
When Deccan Herald contacted the technical education department, the officials said that institutes affected by the AICTE crisis have directly contacted them.
‘Take responsibility’
“Many students are suffering from this crisis. The small mistake can prove costly to many students.”
“The body which has increased the intake should take responsibility for this new crisis also. Students can opt for second round of counselling, if the AICTE does not rectify their mistake.”
According to the KEA officials, the affected candidates can change their option during the casual vacancy round.
“We have not received any information from AICTE. The students can change their options during the casual vacancy round,” said D S Narasimha Murthy, spokesperson of KEA.
A total of 1,280 seats were allotted to students on Thursday by KEA. Students with ranks from 15201 to 16900 is expected to appear for counselling tomorrow.
Nearly 27,272 seats are available for students on Friday.
