The leopard’s carcass was found at a stone quarry at Kothalavadi near Terakanambi in Biligiri Ranganatha Tiger (BRT) Wildlife division in Chamarajanagar range on Thursday.

A case has been registered and a team of officials, led by Chamarajanagar CCF Heeralal, is probing the case.

Prima facie, it appeared like the leopard had been poisoned to death as the carcasses of a dog and a calf were also found near it, the forest department officials said.
