They staged a dharna on Monday in front of the deputy commissioner in Kolar. They alleged several party members were injured when the police roughed them up during the party’s ‘jail bharo’, a protest rally on April 8, but the police refused to register the cases; instead, they booked cases against the party workers themselves.

Condemning the ‘autocracy’ of the police they alleged the police seemed to think that staging protest for the public cause was also against law.  They  said that they would approach the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission. K P Sooryanarayana, Gandhinagar Narayanaswamy and others took part.
