Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday asked DG&IGP M A Saleem to initiate strict action against black marketeers of fertilisers.

Siddaramaiah said black marketeers should not exploit the shortage. He asked the DG&IGP to ensure tight vigil on the black market, according to a statement.

Saleem has been asked to ensure no artificial shortage of fertilisers occurs at district, taluk and hobli levels. 

During the day, CM met Congress MLAs from Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Gadag, Haveri, Shivamogga, Davangere, Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru and Chikkaballapur districts.
