Bengaluru: The government of Andhra Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority are all set to celebrate the two-day festival highlighting the culture and heritage of Lepakshi from March 31 to April 1. 'Lepakshi Utsavam-2018' will be held at Lepakshi in Hindupur taluk of Ananthapur district, on Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border.

"About 600 dancers will perform Mahakuchipudi. 'Shobha Yatra,' a procession drawn by a chariot will be another event to look out for.

The procession will reach the main area wherein Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will preside over the programme," Hindupur MLA and Telugu actor Nanadumuri Balakrishna said at a press meet held here on Saturday.

Live band from Shivamani and Ravi Chari along with dance performance by Surabhi Puranik are some of the highlights of the festival.

Heritage walk

A heritage walk will also be held as part of the festival.

Kalava Srinivasulu, Andhra Pradesh Minister of Information and Public Relations said that about 5-6 lakh people are expected to attend the festival.
