The two-day Koyime programme, organised by Connecting Kodavas Trust at Appacchakavi Vidyalaya in Chikkamundoor, concluded on Saturday.

Women, children and elders participated in it enthusiastically. Women presented Ummathat, acting, group dance and others, while men performed Bolakat, Kolat, Balopat, Kathiyat, Pareyakali, Talipat and others.

There was a brisk sale of essential commodities and condiments. More than 100 old and antique items were kept for exhibition.

Competitions like essay writing, quiz, elocution, bow and arrow, throwing coconut, shooting coconut and cooking traditional Kodava delicacies were held.

Progressive farmer Somengada Thimmayya said, “Integrated farming will be a boon to farmers. I used to engage in farming even while serving. Now, after retirement, I dedicate myself to farming.”
