Mysuru: Director of Department of Electronics, IT, BT, and Science & Technology, Karnataka government, H V Darshan spoke about the potential disruptions cyber threats can cause at each level and stressed on the importance of proactive investment in cybersecurity measures.
During the inaugural ceremony of 'CyberShield Mysuru’, organised by Mysuru-based Cyberverse Foundation, in association with the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), in Mysuru, on Saturday, Darshan underlined that building resilience and promoting awareness at all levels — national, state, district, and individual — is vital to mitigate the risks and to strengthen security.
Darshan emphasised on the government's focus on advancing cybersecurity and ensuring that Karnataka’s technological leadership continues. He highlighted Karnataka’s contributions to technological advancements and policies that promote technological growth.
He said that a secure digital ecosystem can be achieved only when all stakeholders work together, to prioritise cybersecurity and to promote a culture of awareness and resilience.
CEO of DSCI Vinayak Godse highlighted the importance of partnerships in advancing cybersecurity initiatives. He said the collaboration between Cyberverse Foundation and DSCI has been pivotal in improving cyber awareness and resilience across the nation and in positioning Mysuru as a leading cybersecurity hub of India.
Godse stressed on the rising cyber threats, due to rapid digitisation and the urgent need for robust cybersecurity measures, to secure the digital ecosystem.
Chairperson of Cyberverse Foundation and vice-chairperson of Bherunda Foundation Trishikha Kumari Wadiyar spoke on the significance of the CyberShield Mysuru Conference 2025 in highlighting the growing importance of cybersecurity in tier-2 cities.
She highlighted Mysuru’s emergence as a hub for cybersecurity initiatives, a development further strengthened by the establishment of the Centre of Excellence in Cybersecurity in Mysuru city.
