Mandya: An eight-member committee has been constituted for the study of Cauvery Aarti said Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
He held a meeting with officials near Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) dam in Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district, during his inspection for a suitable place for Cauvery Aarti, on Friday.
The government has constituted a committee for preparing a report on the recommendations for Cauvery Aarti at KRS in Srirangapatna taluk, on the lines of Ganga Aarti in Varanasi and Haridwar, headed by Bengaluru Water Supply Drinage Board Chairman, the Deputy Chief Minister said.
An order has been issued that the committee members appointed are MLA Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, MLC Dinesh Gooligowda, Mandya DC Kumara, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Managing Director, DDof Kannada and Culture dept, DD of Touism department and Chief Executive Engineer of Mysuru Irrigation department.
