Bengaluru: Affirming that Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar would certainly be the next chief minister, rebel BJP leader and former minister S T Somashekar said on Thursday that noted astrologer Dwarkanath had predicted about 25 years ago that Shivakumar would be CM in future.
Speaking to reporters, he said, during his conversation with Dwarkanath, he had predicted that Shivakumar would be imprisoned and then he would go on to become CM.
“His first prediction about Shivakumar (imprisonment) has already come true. I am confident that he will be the next CM,” he said.
Taking a swipe at the ‘dinner diplomacy politics’ within Congress, the Yeshwantpur BJP MLA said whoever is doing it must stop and focus on people’s welfare. Heaping praise on BJP state president B Y Vijayendra, he said he had never come across Vijayendra as vengeful.
“He is a born fighter and whenever the party has assigned him a job, he has not failed in his duties. I worked closely with him for three years when I was minister in the previous BJP government,” he said in response to BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal’s attacks on Vijayendra.
