Mangaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar visited Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Swamy Temple in Dakshina Kannada district on Sunday.
Speaking after the visit, he said, "We need religion and not the other way around. We must protect religion.”
“Dharmasthala, a well known place of worship has been serving society through social and educational initiatives. It is our duty to support such efforts," he further told reporters.
"The coastal region is an important part of our state. Just as the organs are vital to the human body, the coastal region is equally important," he stated.
D K Shivakumar also met Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade on the occasion.
