Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta has lashed out at Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, for using the district Republic Day function as a platform for political speech instead of focusing on issues related to the district’s development.
He said that the Central government has implemented the VB-G RAM G scheme to plug leakages in the employment guarantee programme, but Congress leaders are unwilling to accept the facts. Creating a chain of lies has become the work and agenda of the Congress government, he alleged.
He said that by misusing the Republic Day stage for political purposes, the minister is spreading misinformation about the far-sighted VB-G RAM G scheme aimed at strengthening the rural economy. This, he said, reflects the Congress party’s intellectual bankruptcy and its mindset of obstructing development.
The MP said Congress government’s attempt to misuse constitutional office and run what he termed a “factory of lies” has completely failed, and that is why the minister is now criticising the conduct of the Governor.
Responding to Dinesh Gundu Rao’s statement that the Governor is under the control of the Central government, Capt Chowta said that ministers of a Congress government that does not respect the Constitution or constitutional offices have no right to speak on federalism.
He said that before making such statements, the district in-charge minister should reflect on how Congress leaders behaved inside the Assembly when the Governor arrived for the session.
He questioned whether Congress leader Ivan D’Souza, acting on the directions of the Congress high command, attempted to obstruct and disrespect the Governor inside the House.
In such a situation, the minister, he said, should first clarify before the people of the state whether the conduct of his own party leaders was appropriate, instead of criticising the Governor.
