Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada police have arrested three men who had been failing to appear for court hearings in separate cases. They were absconding for years.

Evaded court hearing despite 9 warrants

In a case registered at the Puttur Town Police Station in 2023 under Section 379 of IPC, the accused from Savanur, Shivakumar alias Shivu, evaded court proceedings despite nine warrants.

A special team of the Uppinangady police, under the guidance of Puttur Sub-Division DySP Arun Nagegowdar and Puttur Town Inspector Kiran Johnson D’Souza, arrested Shivakumar from Abbigere, Bengaluru.

Another arrest in Bengaluru

In another case, Syed Kaleem alias Kallu Mamu was absconding for three years. A case was registered against him at the Uppinangady Police Station in 2022 under Section 394 of IPC.

The accused, said to be from Jagajeevan Ram Nagar in Bengaluru, also has four other cases registered in various police stations in the city. He was arrested by a special police team led by PSI Kaushik under the guidance of DySP Arun Nagegowdar and Uppinangady Circle Inspector Ravi B.S.

Accused produced before court

Similarly, the Kadaba Police on Tuesday arrested Yousuf (32). He was on the run for the past three years. A case registered was registered against him at the Kadaba Police Station under Sections 341, 323, 324, 504, 506 read with Section 34 of the IPC. After his arrest, he was produced before court, which remanded him in 14 days in judicial custody.
