Chitradurga: Kashinathayya Shivanagoudar, father of Renukaswamy, who was allegedly killed by actor Darshan and gang in Bengaluru, made it clear that "neither we have not met actor Darshan after his release on bail, nor we have received any money from him. The actor has not approached us. Yet, false news is circulating on social media, which is distressing for us."

Speaking to media persons, here on Thursday, he said, false reports are spreading that Darshan has given crores of rupees to Renukswamy's family members and the family is buying a new car. "I am not familiar with Facebook or WhatsApp. Our relatives and well-wishers are calling us about this, and we are shocked. We plead with those spreading such false news to refrain from doing so."

"We couldn't even afford to repair the bike used by Renukswamy. Is it possible for us to buy a new car? Please do not add to our pain. We are worried about the future of our daughter-in-law and grandson. We are consulting legal experts on how to prevent the spread of false news," he added.

On petition in Supreme Court, he said, "we welcome the state government's petition to the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of actor Darshan's bail. The petition was filed because the accused have indeed committed a heinous crime. Although we did not request this, we thank the government for proceeding with the legal process on its own initiative," he said.

Jangama community leader Shadakshari urged the government to transfer Renukswamy murder case from the trial court to a fast-track court. To ensure the culprits are punished before the case fades from public memory, a fast-track court must be established.
