Dasara elephant Bheema injured in wild jumbo attack

The youngest Dasara elephant Bheema, 17, was injured in a fight with another elephant, near Mattigodu elephant camp, under Nagarahole National Park, recently.

Bheema sustained injuries in his trunk and back as a wild elephant attacked him when he was grazing in the forest area two days ago. Bheema had collapsed on the spot and was shifted to the camp with the help of other elephants.

According to sources, Bheema is out of danger and recovering.

It may be mentioned that Bheema is the youngest of Dasara elephants and was also projected as the future howdah elephant. Bheema, for the first time, participated in Dasara-2017.
