The “helicopter joyride” service, one of the attractions of Dasara festivities, will begin at Lalith Mahal helpad on Saturday.

Pawan Hans Helicopter Service and Chipsan Aviation will operate the services till October 5. This time, the ride will cost Rs 2,300 per head for adults and Rs 2,200 for physically challenged and children below six years of age.

The 10-minute helicopter ride will operate from 9 am to 5 pm everyday and fliers can get a bird’s eye view of Chamundi Hill, Mysuru Palace and other places of the tourist city. Tickets will be available at Lalit Mahal Helipad and can also be booked on www.pawanhans.co.in/www.bookmyshow.com.

Gold cards released

Deputy Commissioner D Randeep, who is also the Dasara Special Officer, released Dasara Gold Cards on Friday. The cards will be available for sale from Saturday.


A gold card, which costs Rs 3,999, can be purchased online by visiting mysoredasara.gov.in or through www.bookmyshow.com. The cards will also be available at the office of the deputy commissioner.

Special seating arrangements will be made for gold card holders on the Palace premises during the Jamboo Savari and torch light parade at Bannimantap grounds, the DC said. The card will have radio frequency identification (RFID) chip will be scanned at entry points.

Bicycle sharing

The district administration plans to introduce “Trin-Trin,” a public bicycle sharing system during Dasara also. The service is likely to commence on September 21.
Randeep said that a proposal has been submitted to the police commissioner to declare few places in the city as “No Traffic Zones” during Dasara. Bicycles will be introduced at such zones.

The DC said that in addition to the existing docking stations, a few more manned stations will be set up. The bicycles will be available for tourists for one day, three days or on a weekly plan. The user should download and register on the mytrintrin app. The cycles can be unlocked from any docking station using the QR code and can be returned at any other docking station.

“Palace on Wheels,” a special and exclusive bus tour will be launched on September 22.
