As a part of Dattamala abhiyana by Srirama Sene, a Shobhayatra will be held in Chikkamagaluru on Sunday.

The procession will commence from Shankara Mutt on Basavanahalli Main Road at 9 am and will pass through Hanumanthappa Circle, MG Road and Bolarameshwara Temple.

A religious meeting will be held on the occasion, which will be attended by seers and Sri Rama Sene president Pramod Muthalik.

The district administration has taken precautionary measures to maintain law and order in the district. As many as 30 special sector magistrates have been deployed. In addition, 2500 police personnel have been deployed.

Ban on parking

On account of Shobhayatra, parking of vehicles on Basavanahalli Main Road, MG Road and at Azad Park Circle have been banned from 9 am to 12 noon.

As a part of the Dattamala Abhiyana, Maladharis collected alms on Saturday. They went to houses on Basavanahalli Main road and collected rice, jaggery and banana from the households.

The collected items will be taken to the Datta Peetha on Sunday.
