DC seeks report on crop loss compensation

Deputy Commissioner Annies Kanmani Joy has directed the officials to gather information on the farmers who have availed crop loss compensation.

Chairing a meeting on the progress of the rehabilitation works and disbursal of crop compensation at her office on Wednesday, she said that the details sought should be entered through the relevant software and a report in this regard should be submitted to the district administration.

The deputy commissioner further said, “Complete details of the beneficiaries and the losses incurred by them should be uploaded on the software. The village accountant and revenue inspectors should gather information in this regard. The details of the people who have lost their houses and agricultural lands should be uploaded before Friday”.

The details of 36 families who have lost their houses are not furnished, she noted.

Discussions have been carried out during a meeting convened by the chief minister on providing crop compensation to those who have lost their crops in ‘baane’ land. The list of beneficiaries should be drawn in this regard as well, she directed officials.

Zilla Panchayat CEO K Lakshmi Priya said that the works on the houses being constructed in Jamburu, Made and Karnangeri should be accelerated.

Additional Deputy Commissioner T Yogesh, assistant commissioner T Jawaregowda, tahsildar Govindaraju, revenue inspectors and village accountants were present in the meeting.
