A man, presumed dead, reappeared 10 days after his final rites were conducted by his family at Gardadi in Belthangady taluk recently.

Srinivas Devadiga (60) had gone missing from his house on January 26. A missing case was registered at Belthangady police station. A body was found in a lake at Kullunje on February 3. The family members had identified the body as Srinivas Devadiga, who had gone missing and performed his final rites.

When the family members were preparing for the 13th-day rituals, the family received information on Srinivas staying in Mangaluru.

The family members rushed to Mangaluru and tracked him down. After producing him before Belthangady police station, he was taken to his house. Now, the police are attempting to establish the identity of the body that was found in the lake.
