Decision on junior colleges welcomed

High schools had virtually lost their academic existence in composite colleges.

The furniture in the institution as well as laboratory equipment were being used only for college students at the cost of high school students. Since classes were being held in shifts for want of accommodation, shortage of time for classes used to bother students. The furniture sanctioned to high school were being used for college.

Majority of  the officers of the Department of Public Instructions kept themselves away from junior colleges.

On the other hand lack of synergy between the principal and vice-principal over administrative matters had vitiated the environment. This in fact had a bearing on the functioning of the educational institution as a whole. Apart from this, principals were availing the services ‘D’ group employees and clerks for college works affecting the functioning of high school, taluk unit president of the Federation,  Subba Reddy and general secretary M A Prakash have said in a press statement.

They have urged the government to implement the order at the earliest and provide separate buildings for college and high school sections.
