Deluxe pay and use toilets at Mysore Rly stnSpecial toilets will be designed for physically challenged persons

Dr Anup Dayanand Sadhu, senior divisional commercial manager, South Western Railway, Mysore represented Railways and Anand Shekhar, honorary controller, was the signatory on behalf of Sulabh International social organisation.

Consequent on running of additional train services on Mysore Division, there has been significant growth in number of passengers in both premier and long distance fast segments. Keeping this in mind, the concept of deluxe ‘pay and use’ toilets is being provided at two important “A” category stations of Mysore Division, viz., Mysore and Davangere, said Sadhu in a press release.

Sulabh International Social Organization with expertise in this sphere has been awarded the contract for managing the deluxe ‘pay and use’ toilets at the above mentioned stations. The construction of toilets will be undertaken by the agency with no regulation on price and the licensee is authorized to charge the customers on the basis of value added services provided, he said.

These deluxe ‘pay and use’ toilets will be equipped with latrines and urinals, separately for gents and ladies, including at least one European style toilet.

One toilet will also be designed and earmarked for physically challenged persons.

Bathrooms and change rooms with provision of hot water during winter, a mini cloak room, adequate number of wash basins with liquid soap, hand drier, etc. will also be provided with high quality of construction in the interiors as well as exteriors, said the release.
