The awards were announced by Trust Secretary and theatre exponent T Prasanna in Bangalore on Saturday. The Dasimaiah National Award is given for those who have done significant contributions in the field of handlooms. It carries a cash prize of Rs 40,000, an equal amount of market support, a bronze plaque of Mahatma Gandhi and a citation. Anand has been chosen in individual category. Holenarasipura Khadi Gramadyoga Sahakara Sangha, Hassan district and Adhishakti Swasahaya Sangha of Gajendragad, Gadag district get the award in the institutional category. The awards will be presented on May 15 in Bangalore.
