Bengaluru: Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs, K H Muniyappa has lamented that Kharge could not become the chief minister of Karnataka. Muniyappa was speaking at a programme for handing over service regulairisation certificates to BBMP pourakarmikas in Bengaluru on Thursday.
“Babu Jagjivan Ram, our first labour minister, implemented the Constitution laid by (BR) Ambedkar and ensured that backward classes are given reservation. He brought in a slew of programmes in the labour department. After him, Kharge took over the responsibility and made sure that the unorganised sector is brought into the mainstream and gets all benefits. However, even though they worked so hard, Babu Jagajeevan Ram could not become the prime minister and Kharge could not even become the chief minister,” Muniyappa said.
