JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda is not amused with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for throwing a fitness challenge at his son H D Kumaraswamy, who has recently taken over as the chief minister.

Gowda has decided to publicly perform Yoga to mark World Yoga Day on June 21.

“The Karnataka Chamber of Commerce has invited me to inaugurate the Yoga day in Bengaluru on June 21. I will inaugurate the event by performing Yoga, instead of making a speech. I am not trying to prove a point by doing this. I have been practising Yoga for long,” he told reporters here on Wednesday. The former prime minister also said that he had stopped practising Yoga the last few months, owing to his hectic schedule during the Assembly elections. “But, I have started practising yoga from the last 10 days,” he added.
