Sahana Pinjar began her journey in theatre as a child, performing with her uncle’s group. Their plays were often a response to pressing social issues like violence and dowry deaths—challenges that were all too common in the slum where she grew up.
Witnessing firsthand how theatre could influence people’s attitudes and empower them to take a stand left a lasting impression on her. Today, she continues to harness this transformative power through her own theatre group, Bhavaikyata Vedike.
With training from Ninasam and a degree from the National School of Drama, Sahana is redefining the role of theatre in small-town Karnataka. Through her workshops, she inspires young men and women to become catalysts for change in their communities and their personal lives.
