In a note signed by writers G Ramakrishna, K Maralusiddappa, Vijayamma, S G Siddaramaiah, Dr Vasundhara Bhupathi and others, the organisation welcomed the government’s decision to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the issue.

“Since the issue involves old cases, there has to be a comprehensive probe. Thus, the SIT should take into confidence the organisations that have been protesting and proceed. The SIT should work without further delay.”

The signatories urged the SIT to thoroughly investigate those investigating officers who destroy evidence and try to mislead the investigation.
