Mangaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing into the mass burial case in Dharmasthala police station jurisdiction, has started a search operation inside the forest area of Boliyar in Dharmasthala village on Friday, for further investigation.
The SIT officers along with complainant witness and others part of the investigations have visited the spot.
Puttur AC Stella Varghese, SIT SP Jitendra Kumar Dayama, and other officials accompanied the complainant witness. Few labourers also entered the forest with the team.
So far, exhumation processes have been conducted in 14 locations. Initially, the complainant witness had shown 13 locations to the SIT team. Later, exhumation was carried out in two more locations.
However, search operations have not been conducted in site number 13. So far, the SIT team have traced skeletal remains on the sixth site and over 100 bones including a skull inside the forest near the 11th spot shown by the complainant witness.
No human remains have been found at other spots.
