Home Guards should discharge their duties with self-confidence and without any fear, said SP Harish Pande.
Speaking at a training workshop for Home Guards on Friday, he said, “Home Guards should ensure that no one other than authorised people enter the polling booths. The voters should be made to stand in a queue to exercise their franchise. The Home Guards should ensure that there is no illegal activity inside the polling booth. The EVMs and VVPAT should not be tampered with.”
He said that the district administration has extra EVMs. If there are any technical glitches in an EVM, it will be replaced within 15 minutes.
Home Guards district commandant R Anil Kumar and others were present.
