To prepare authentic land ownership documents, the district administration would bring major reforms in preparing the land documents and RTCs through a programme, Bhoomi and Cauvery. The programme aims to prepare an error-free and cliche-ridden information system.

Gurumurthy, special Tahasildar, Bhoomi Cell revealed this at a workshop organised for the village accountants, revenue inspectors, tahasildars from across the district at Senate hall on Monday. More than 600 revenue officials from across different taluks attended a re-orientation workshop aimed at updating the officers on the new software and guidelines for the executing officers.

In his lecture, Gurumurthy said revenue inspectors cannot reject the application for mutation. Such applications which require a scrutiny would be transferred to the tahasildars, he said and added that any dispute raised for the mutation would be addressed by the tahasildars. The revenue inspectors would have to only mark an objection to the applications which are not convincing.

The officers must ensure that the mutations made manually and those which are uploaded to the software have no discrepancies. All the information uploaded to the computer should be saved in print form as the machine could develop snag at any time, he noted.

“All these reforms are to bring hassle-free service to the public,” the tahasildar noted.
Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta and others were present.
