Unofficially, the date of January 5, Sunday, was floated. However, this is not the date declared by the authorities. Therefore, no one will be allowed to conduct any rituals or be allowed to loiter near the statue on that date.

Police will be deployed on Sunday for maintaining the law and order situation in the area.

Roshan, who was accompanied by Police Commissioner Iada Martin Marbaniang, visited the Sambhaji Circle, Angol, on Saturday night to take stock of the situation and also held talks with local residents.

He told reporters that District Administration, through Belagavi City Corporation, will make all the arrangements for the unveiling of the statue of Sambhaji Maharaj and 'all should keep faith'. "We want to maintain the law and order situation and police will be deployed at the circle. All people should remain in their homes and no one should come near the circle on Sunday," Roshan said.

He added, that after his talks with the locals, they had agreed to an unveiling event on a suitable date fixed by the authorities. "We shall make all arrangements through the civic body," he said, adding that care would be taken to ensure that no one's religion or faith was hurt.

Roshan said that he would take it upon himself to hold talks and try to request all those who want to unveil the statue on Sunday to adhere to the official schedule, once it is announced.
