Haveri: The Lokayukta police on Friday arrested two persons including a government doctor while accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakh.

Dr Gururaj Bheemaraya Biradar, a doctor at the district hospital and professor of Forensic Science at Haveri Institute of Medical Sciences, and Channabasaiah Shankrayya Kulkarni, are the arrested.

According to the Lokayukta police, Dr Biradar had demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from a private hospital for issuing a “favourable” forensic report in a case related to alleged death due to medical negligence. After negotiation, he had reduced bribe demand to Rs 3 lakh.
