A doctor at the Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) here is accused of seeking sexual favours from a woman who wanted him to treat her son for ear pain.
Dr Kattappa allegedly made the demand when the woman brought her son the second time on Friday.
He reportedly told her that quality treatment was not possible until she gave him “sexual favours”. He is also accused of misbehaving with her. The woman lodged a complaint against the doctor at the women’s police station on Saturday.
Ramizabi, the sub-inspector of women’s police station, said that since the doctor was a government employee, he would be served a notice first.
Further action will be taken after taking the consent of the higher authorities, she added.
