Speaking to the media, in Mysuru, on Friday, Rao said, BJP leaders B Y Vijyaendra, R Ashoka, and Pralhad Joshi are busy only giving speeches.

“The BJP leaders are not taking up the farmers' issues with the Centre. The BJP MPs from Karnataka are not raising their voice in the Parliament. Don't they have any responsibility towards the people and farmers of Karnataka?” Rao asked.

In reply to a question on the issue of change in the chief minister’s position, Rao said, “There is no confusion regarding the CM change issue. CM Siddaramaiah, DCM D K Shivakumar, and everyone else have said that they are committed to the party high command's decision.

"The decision of the High Command is final. There is no difference of opinion in our party. Everyone has the desire to become the CM. But, the high command decides who should be the CM," he added.

Responding to a query on his own CM ambition, the Minister said, “Why are you dragging me into this issue? I do have aspirations. But time and circumstances will decide everything”.
