Addressing a press meet, District Kannada Sahithya Parishat President T P Ramesh said the sammelan will be held at Moornadu Pandane Government Model Primary School maidan.
A welcome committee has been constituted with the elected representatives and members of various associations for the success of the sammelan. The sammelan president will be taken out in a procession at 2.30 pm. Various art troupes, Sthree Shakti Sangha members will take part in the procession.
Various sessions will be held on March 31.
In the valedictory, various people who have made achievement in various field will be felicitated, he added. The district Kannada Sahithya Parishat has also decided to bring out a souvenir as part of the eighth sahithya sammelan. The poets who wish to take part in the poets meet should send their poems to the Committee within March 20. The main entrance to the sammelan venue has been named after K C Ramamurthy. The book stalls will be named after late G T Narayana Rao and the main stage will be named after Kondadera Bopaiah who had taken part in Gokhak movement.
