Driver charred to death after bus, tanker caught fire in collision

The driver of a truck was charred to death in a tragic accident that occurred between a container truck and a private bus at Mannagundi in Nelyadi on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway 75 on Wednesday. The bus has been completely gutted in the fire.

According to the police, the private bus was bound to Bengaluru from Mangaluru while the container was bound to Mangaluru when the mishap occurred. The driver of the container could not come out of the truck and was burnt alive. Due to the impact of the collision, the truck and the bus caught fire.

The bus driver and passengers who suffered minor injuries were shifted to the hospital. A case has been registered at Uppinangady police station. The local residents and the fire service personnel rushed to the spot and helped in dousing the fire.
